7. What type of premises do you need?
8. Please introduce yourself in a short way:
- I was studying a graphic design at the Art academy, Kaunas faculty. Later on I traveled and worked in UK, mostly London. After two years I decided to continue my studies in France, Paris. So I finished a fashion school, Atelier Chardon Savard as a stylist and fashion designer. Started my dressmaker career combining with some extra work. In 2015 I came back to Lithuania, where I started to develop a social business idea with people with a hearing loss, who use a lithuanian sign language as their native. Together we created a project - Made in Silence. We launched the first collection in 2018 at Vaidilos theatre in the late September.
- HELLO.MY NAME IS LIADI AJIBOLA LATEE AND I AM A STAINGLASS CRAFT MAN .I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT LEARNING NEW SKILL .
- Sveiki, I am a clothing designer from Finland temporary living in Vilnius. I'm in the beginning on developing my idea, product and business. I used to work for years in Finland as a developer in craft, design and travel industry. Hence I haven't been working on my own art and design projects for a long time. After leaving my latest job in Helsinki at the Finnish Crafts Organisation in 2016 and moving to Sydney, Australia gave me an opportunity to start building my own design and art ideas again. Now I surprisingly find myself living in Vilnius for the second year as my husband from Australia wanted to experience to live in Europe for a while! He works at VGTU helping people with their Academic publications etc... And I continue with my accessories... And we really enjoy living here!
- I'm an international touring multi-instrumentalist from the United States. I just finished a two month trek around the world including a two week visit to LT. While in the country I was with a group of international artists called Take Me To The River. We did an exhibition at Pacai Place and the Contemporary Art Gallery that was a collaboration with artists from the Baltic States. I truly fell in love with Lithuania. I spent the rest of the worldwide journey playing shows and in-store clinics for my guitar sponsor, Takamine Guitars, all over Europe, China and Japan. I'm 29 years old. I've been performing and recording music since I was a small child and touring professionally for a decade.
- Hello!! I come from Barcelona north metropolitan region. For the last 7 years I have been learning languages in Europe and learning about their cultures and way of living, also city understanding. Before I left my Barcelona Architecture School I was very active in the Catalan Politics Area and its History Research. For some years I studied the planning of new cities by the Spanish Empire in America. I discovered the necessity of bringing a society together through a well defined philosophy by designing the city and any detail focused on that simple and powerful idea. I think 500 years ago, the ideal linking the world was Christianity. Nowadays can be True Art. I have lived in Hamburg, Prague, Reykjavik and the Austrian Alps now.
- I am an artist born in St. Petersburg in 1980. I came in Lithuania two years ago and have graduated from Vilnius Art Academy, Graphics Department, last year. I currently live in Vilnius and try to establish myself in a local art community. In my work I wish to explore the relations between our memories and real places and events that took place in the past. I am interested mainly in this shift between the so-called reality and recollections, that exists by its own rules. Lately I have been using different graphic techniques, video and sound material to create an artificial space with a possibility for exploration of this phenomenon by a viewer.
- We are artists family who are working on various international collaboration art projects. Mainly we are travelling artists (sculptor and photographer) who are experimenting and merging different mediums (painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, video, installations, etc.). We are focusing on the present situations and issues in particular locations we are at that moment, keeping in mind the experience, knowledge and feelings of our culture and traditions, nature and environment.
- Kimo Arbas, an artist based in Los Angeles, engaged in technology & transmedia storytelling through motion picture, vocals, performance, sound composition, time & space related works and thaumaturgy. He is concerned mostly with the power of spaces and our relation to them. Arbas has exhibited his work on the east and west coasts of the United States, Europe, Australia, Ukraine and the Caucasus. He holds degrees from California Institute of the Arts and University of the Arts – Berlin, Germany. Next exhibition will be at Manifesta 11 Zurich, Switzerland. August 20, 2016.
- I am post graduated in fine arts from M.S. university Vadodara( Gujarat) . I am professional artist and Educator since long time. I love traveling and Yoga . I believe in be a part of the nature and peace .
- I am a photographer who is on a journey to capture life as it happens candidly on this planet and also planning to work on various projects to save the disappearing nature , wildlife and the traditions worldwide through photography .
9. What kind of art / project / product do you want to produce? Please introduce your idea. You can attach any videos, records, photos, sketches, links, etc. if necessary (by sending it to [email protected] ).
- Made in Silence is a fashion brand raising awareness about deaf culture and sign language. Collaborating with people having a hearing disability I create the line of casual wear with sign language designs(silkscreen or other technology). We also choose an ethical fashion way to produce our items.
- OK
- I started to develop ideas for accessories when I was living in Australia and found the local style very relaxed because of the warm climate. T-shirt, shorts and thongs. I wanted to create something new, not just scarves etc. So I got an idea of a collar-tie-scarf-tie, a multipurpose accessory. On the way to the point where I am now, I have made endless variations. My main material is vintage kimono fabrics but I'm not limited with that. In Vilnius I have found the fabric leftovers of linen. Just recently I opened my web shop that has at the moment only one-off pieces made from vintage kimonos.
- Throughout the months of March-April I'd like to record a new album in Europe with a bit of a twist. I want to travel to different countries and find unique spaces to record the tracks in. I.e. Churches, catacombs, abandoned buildings etc. Throughout the process I would be accompanied by a world class videographer, Jake Burgess, to document the recordings and the process. After the two months recording, I'd like to land in Uzupis and use a space May-June to mix the album (and if Jake Burgess can attend, edit the footage). The final result would be a new record and a documentary about the process.
- As an architect I am focused to build models that transmit a clear idea of materiality of any project, that I understand as a single object. For such reason, I would like to define a city as an object. My main focus has been for several years building cities. And I want to understand it clearly by living in one of the existing ones that I identify as a solution with very potential. In Hamburg, I made a study regarding megaregions topic. The cluster idea came to my vocabulary. Why not bring True Art to the centrality of city building? Thus, during my stay in Prague, finishing my Bachelor in Architecture, I made my thesis on the central depot building above Holesovice district peninsula. That depot building is a central emblem of the growing city of Prague. I designed a wooden city with raw and useless materials inside that building. A city with squares, services, proportions, installations as such,... only for living art students and practitioners, which I believe must be the ones empowering the city core with joyful energy. I see in Uzupi Republic the same potential and want to improve it little by little making a team of people to restore abandoned buildings in the Republic and bring them useful utility for the entire society. My idea is experimental but I am hardly motivated, as I am from Barcelona and we are trying to find ways to convert our industrial heritage buildings to new city cores. I am talking about Can Batlló, for example.
- Though I am not quite sure what kind of project I would work on, I intend to explore the same topic as I was before. The studio will give me an opportunity to proceed with my art work and connect with the creative community of the city. I would like to note that I will be glad to rent a studio in any premises, and it does not much matter for me if it is individual or shared. Also please, see the text sent by me to above mentioned email, the letter subject is "Application for studio rental from Renata Magzumova"
- We are working on a new project: Annual Indian Artists Residency Program, so we can invite Indian artists to participate in Art Camp in Vilnius, to organize the exhibition in few places in Lithuania. To continue Sanskritik Mandala project which first part has been successfully completed in collaboration with UMI and other eminent partners. More info: www.facebook.com/thecircleofcreation To continue Plant a Tree in Every CounTree and install a public sculpture or installation based on our experience in Lithuania (more about the project: www.facebook.com/plantatreeineverycountree)
- I would like to design and test a multimedia conceptual art piece with performance elements. Please see my website
- I am coming for Art project which I have got invitation from Organisation "Sanskriti Mandala" ( Invited by Tamara) from 15 July 2016.
- Sanskritik Mandala project brings the aim to create the dialogue between two groups of artists in the language of different mediums of art and I am going to participate as a photographer from India on this project to exhibit life in India by participating through sanskritik mandala .
10. Why is your idea / project / product exceptional and innovative?
- Deaf people is a part of our society. They are creative and capable of working, sharing their ideas and expressing themselves equally as hearing people. 70% of clothing is upcycled, as we collect unused fabrics from sportswear producers. Other 30% is made of organic cotton or other carefully selected materials as one of our main goal is to reduce waste and do not make harm for nature. Our vision is to become worldwide fashion brand, to involve artists from other countries with their sign language, bridging the gap between deaf and hearing societies through fashion communication, popularize sign language. Our aim is to provide more possibilities for self-realization and employment.
- MY PRODUCT OR IDEA BE COME INNOVATION INTO A GOOD AND SERVICE THAT CREATES VALUE.
- The feedback that I have got from customers in Helsinki design markets has been encouraging. I have made people surprised, smiling, accepting with a new idea that they have never seen before. The idea is to wear a piece of accessory / textile jewellery with a simple basic outfit. Use of upcycled fabrics as left over linen, vintage kimono fabrics etc. is an essential part of the concept.
- I don't think anything like it has been done before. It will be a collage of music, European history and my own personal story. I think both the album and documentary will garner lots of interest and it will overall make for a very meaningful and rich project.
- So, the idea is to experiment in Uzupi Republic a system of city rehabilitation and repopulation that I want to apply in one an a half year in central Barcelona. So said, I understand this project in its basis. The idea is to collaborate with people already living in Uzupi Republic, like Jurgita Jakubauskaite. First: Harvest raw materials and list their source (free material). Second: Focus on one single building. Design uses. And define all pieces that will build the new room. Third: Invite Vilnius people to join the construction project that will be given to them after finishing the built. I understand Christianity as a way to experience the eternal path to perfection through goodness. Maybe we can agree this is the Love frequency. And what is Art if not Love for Beauty? So, if we can structure a city and its society through True Art, I think this is what our world need badly.
- please, see the text sent by me to above mentioned email, the letter subject is "Application for studio rental from Renata Magzumova"
- We are working on the relations between Indian and Lithuanian contemporary art and artists. We seek to promote Lithuanian culture, history, art history and present happening, revive folk and tradition in context of contemporary art, to represent Indian contemporary visual art and create the platform and opportunity for artists to exlpore, collaborate and create.
- The project will use and manipulate field recordings, field footage, avantegarde vocals and ancient Baltic thaumaturgy. This combination and expression is quite rare in the world.
- My project is to show my painting and drawing and workshop with people . Usually I worked with local photo studios and after I generate some drawing and painting . So I Want to produce some work with workshop and try to make bridge between both culture, people and expression .
- For a very long time Lithuania is related to India and I am very much proud of it . I wish to develop beautiful cultural bridge and give a try to work together with Lithuanian artists and I wish to understand Lithuanian culture and art better and deeper.
11. Do you work in a team? If yes, please describe your team.
- I mostly work alone, as I sew bespoke dresses, but I also have a team for Made in Silence - clothing line with sign language. Vaida is our team member with a hearing disability, she is collaborating with me as a graphic designer. Neringa is my partner and we often discuss through clothing designs and looking for partners, sponsors, creating content for website and Facebook profile. We have also a few volunteers to help us analyzing sign language symbols, organizing events etc.
- NO
- I'm working alone but I'd like to rent a studio as I'd like to communicate with other designers and artists. And I also need help with photo shooting and many other things. And hopefully I could also help others somehow. Until now I have been working at home and that makes me lonely and as I cut and sew all the products by myself it is a little bit dusty and messy. I'm open with any kind of space, a studio in a common area or an individual studio. Also the both locations are fine for me. We'll be living in Vilnius at least until August 2020.
- I work with a team on the business end yes. I have two managers, Matt Gould in Scottsdale, AZ and Christine Murdoch in Chicago, IL who help me strategize projects, deals etc. I have a booking agent in the states, Tyler Rhem in Madison, WI, who books some of my U.S. performances. Lastly, Elle Lively from Grand Rapids, MI is in charge of social media and branding. Aside from these people, my creative work is done solely by me. In this case, Jake Burgess, would be in charge of the video side of it. He is a savant.
- I don't have a team yet. But I have a good friend in Barcelona that would be very interested to stay for a while with me and film the entire process of rehabilitating one building. He is film maker. I also have other film maker friends that would like to join the experience. However, my idea is to reactivate the young population of the regional area. We could fix a language workshop, so I could learn Lithuanian and my team Catalan. Time ago, was a Catalan queen from Italy that brought the new constitutions of Polish and Lithuanian Kingdom to a reality. So, we have a common history together. This project its a social experiment above all. If I cannot find a team in Vilnius, my idea won't work anywhere else. I have good very good experiences so far with Lithuanian people. I think will be a great experience if we all agree bringing it to the future.
- I am working individually though I am open to collaborations.
- Mainly we are team of two members: Tamara Artajeva and Alak Pathak. But we have many "co-workers" and supporters, who are joining our team as per project.
- No
- I am going to work as an artist with Team "Sanskriti Mandala" ( Invited by Tamara ).
- At the moment I work individually but I have an interest to collaborate with Lithuanian artists
