  1. Made in Silence is a fashion brand raising awareness about deaf culture and sign language. Collaborating with people having a hearing disability I create the line of casual wear with sign language designs(silkscreen or other technology). We also choose an ethical fashion way to produce our items.
  2. OK
  3. I started to develop ideas for accessories when I was living in Australia and found the local style very relaxed because of the warm climate. T-shirt, shorts and thongs. I wanted to create something new, not just scarves etc. So I got an idea of a collar-tie-scarf-tie, a multipurpose accessory. On the way to the point where I am now, I have made endless variations. My main material is vintage kimono fabrics but I'm not limited with that. In Vilnius I have found the fabric leftovers of linen. Just recently I opened my web shop that has at the moment only one-off pieces made from vintage kimonos.
  4. Throughout the months of March-April I'd like to record a new album in Europe with a bit of a twist. I want to travel to different countries and find unique spaces to record the tracks in. I.e. Churches, catacombs, abandoned buildings etc. Throughout the process I would be accompanied by a world class videographer, Jake Burgess, to document the recordings and the process. After the two months recording, I'd like to land in Uzupis and use a space May-June to mix the album (and if Jake Burgess can attend, edit the footage). The final result would be a new record and a documentary about the process.
  5. As an architect I am focused to build models that transmit a clear idea of materiality of any project, that I understand as a single object. For such reason, I would like to define a city as an object. My main focus has been for several years building cities. And I want to understand it clearly by living in one of the existing ones that I identify as a solution with very potential. In Hamburg, I made a study regarding megaregions topic. The cluster idea came to my vocabulary. Why not bring True Art to the centrality of city building? Thus, during my stay in Prague, finishing my Bachelor in Architecture, I made my thesis on the central depot building above Holesovice district peninsula. That depot building is a central emblem of the growing city of Prague. I designed a wooden city with raw and useless materials inside that building. A city with squares, services, proportions, installations as such,... only for living art students and practitioners, which I believe must be the ones empowering the city core with joyful energy. I see in Uzupi Republic the same potential and want to improve it little by little making a team of people to restore abandoned buildings in the Republic and bring them useful utility for the entire society. My idea is experimental but I am hardly motivated, as I am from Barcelona and we are trying to find ways to convert our industrial heritage buildings to new city cores. I am talking about Can Batlló, for example.
  6. Though I am not quite sure what kind of project I would work on, I intend to explore the same topic as I was before. The studio will give me an opportunity to proceed with my art work and connect with the creative community of the city. I would like to note that I will be glad to rent a studio in any premises, and it does not much matter for me if it is individual or shared. Also please, see the text sent by me to above mentioned email, the letter subject is "Application for studio rental from Renata Magzumova"
