Governments' treatment of ecological issues.

Our health and well-being depend on nature. Do you think that governments display adequate consideration of nature when making any industrial decision?

What do you think about the tradition stemming from Ireland of dyeing a river green on a St. Patrick's Day?

Do you think that the government's allocation of finances is satisfactory in addressing the UK's ecological crisis?

What steps, in your opinion, should a government take to enhance sustainability?

  1. Obligate landlords to invest in sustainable improvements to their houses. Lately a lot of things like solar panels and electric cars have been subsidized, and this means only relatively rich people (often house owners) can go green(er).
  2. Ban single use plastics, enforce companies products to only be made from recyclable or biodegradable materials, ban chewing gum, ban anything that’s not made from recyclable or biodegrade materials
  3. Dismantle
  4. Maybe by creating restrictions to an amounts of products made by year
  5. Release the patents for the free energy devices. Fund peace instead of wars and invest in the youth instead of rasing a world of consumers.
  6. Care more about people and less about profit
  7. Reduce car use, reduce the population (if possible), make it compulsory for commercial buildings to switch off their lights when not in use, use of biodegradable packaging only in supermarkets
  8. Actually act upon the issues. Not just recognise that there are issues.
  9. Introduce harsher punishments for those who pollute
  10. Should hire independant auditors for already implemented protection policies

How do you contribute to improving our environment?

  1. I eat vegetarian 4 days a week and only at most 1 day red meat (pig/beef). Also I get groceries by bike and travel longer distances by train or bus. I have no car. I have no consumerist hobbies and only buy clothing that I really need. I also insulated my house as best I could.
  2. By buying recyclable and biodegradable products as much as i can, using the same clothes more than a few times before buying new ones
  3. Warnings posted on social media.
  4. Don't litter.
  5. Recycle, try natural remedies, use disolving products
  6. I recycle plastic, cardboard and glass containers. I don't have a car. I turn the heating and lighting off when they are not needed and I try to avoid fast food and take ways and their containers. I also don't smoke.
  7. Recycling, using public trans.
  8. I try my best to recycle the things I buy.
  9. I take public transport, rarely order take out, buy second-hand clothes and wear them for a long time
  10. I recycle and buy second-hand stuff

Considering the magnitude of environmental neglect our planet is currently experiencing, do you believe that governments are guided by a good agenda in their approach towards humanity?
