Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania
What presents do you usually give to others/receive? Tell me more about them. Are they based on some kind of tradition or not in your opinion?
I give special presents for everyone, taking into account their wishes, but also I try to give intangible presents, because I think, it touch other hearts the most.
Idk
It depends. I would never give someone present that I don't like myself. Also I love wrapping presents for others so I adore when people give me perfectly wrapped presents, then i actually don't even care what is inside, if the outside is nice :D
Mostly money, even though it's really banal and unoriginal, it's quite practical. And it's a tradition, I guess, sometimes we buy gift cards or coupons.
I usually give handmade presents, like jewellery, food ( cupcakes or cookies), books. It depends on the person. And I usually recieve the same gifts, because my friends now, that handmade things are my favourite. I don't think that they are based on some kind of tradition. While givinga present you simply say "thank you" for a person and show him/her that he/she is important for you.
Since I'm still underage and I don't get a lot of money from my parents I buy little but useful presents to my friends. I usually receive money because people don't know what to give and you can just buy whatever you want with that money.
Presents always have a special meaning. It's like tradition to make something, not just buy things.
I always try to give useful presents. Or something cool, extreme, new. I usually receive entertainment gifts. Usually coupons with some kind of activity. I think these have nothing to do with traditions :D
I usually give and recieve homemade presents. They vary from drawings, picture albums, candles and mixtapes. They aren't based on any tradion, but rather on the likes and dislikes of the person recieving the gift.
No traditions. I usually receive money and flowers. It's also easier to give others money as a present so they could spend them on things they really need/want.
