Latgale ethnic identity

Does Latgale are separated from Latvia nowadays?

  4. No
  5. It must be put into the context. When we speak about within Latvia, yes, somehow Lavians tend to underappreciate their lovely neighboor Latgalians - they somehow stereotype them as somewhat lower UNTIL they, ofcourse, meet the Latgalian and make friends with him. Them Latvian can see, that we are the same in. Yes, maybe we live less fancy lives than other Latvians and history can teach you why, but nevertheless, we are the one nation. So, if we talk about global context, then no, we are not seperated. It hurts, when Latvians say that we would like to live alone or (even scarier) join our known neighboor. It's not like that. We are the part of Latvia, less angry with our slavic neighboor, because of the population of Latglia (history, again), but definetly we are one with Latvia.
