Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania

What presents do you usually give to others/receive? Tell me more about them. Are they based on some kind of tradition or not in your opinion?

  1. I like when I can give something from my heart. Like- photos with that friend, write down some memories etc. And usually I receive some pictures or just some little things that mean a lot to me.
  2. Well if I am giving presents to close friend/relative I would give them some cute stuff or stuff that has meaning (like inside jokes) and if it is just friend I will just give them some monet. It is same for receiving the presents.
  3. Something that persons wants. Not im my opinion
  4. Dovanodamas dovanas stengiuosi būti originalus - mėgstu kažką kuklaus, bet šmaikštaus. Pats irgi prašau panašių dovanų. Taip pat mėgstu praktiškas dovanas.
  5. As we know the best present is money. But sometimes i get some "inside jokes" presents or some thing which I really need. For example: DJ earphones, watch, perfume or something like that.
  6. The best gift, I think is money
  7. usually I receive money, flowers and a lot of chocolate, while others are giving them what perhaps is useful
  8. Usually I give and receive money simply because people always need money and it's the most practical present.
  9. I usually try to make something memorable for my friends and also useful. I don't have any traditions in giving or receiving gifts. Friends mostly just buy me something that they think I would like.
  10. I tend to give presents which are cozy in at least one way. It can be tea of a brand that I enjoy, a notebook, interesting treats, homemade sweets, sometimes money. I usually get similar presents more or less. I don't believe they are tradition-based.
