Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania
Do you celebrate your birthday alone or with your relatives/friends? Why?
with my relatives and friends.
so that one would be sad and unintresting
Friends and family, because it's more fun, isn't it?
Usually 'celebration' is just a casual dinner with family, sharing the cake and wine. Also, I like to treat my best friend dinner or a night out as a thank you because she really prepares me gifts. This year I celebrated my birthday in Korean way with seaweed soup which was awesome. I do not think birthday is a big thing in general, that is why all my celebrations are only between me and very close people to me, more of small usual gathering.
Then I was younger, with my family. Now I go out with my friends. Because it's much easier to chat with them and it's much more spontinious.
With my friends and family, but separate. I'm an introvert so I prefer smaller groups of people around me, and it seems like a good idea to celebrate separately with friends and family.
With friends, because birthday is the reason why we can all meet together in summer and have fun
I usuly celebrate with family. Sometimes with friends.
I don't celebrate it. I always try to spend that day as other days, without other people. I do this, because I don't like attention.
With my relatives and friends, because I think that birthday is one of those times for the closest people to come together and have some fun.
