Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania

What aspects/traditions of birthday celebrations do you cherish/enjoy the most? Why? Are you planning to pass those traditions to you children in the future?why?

  1. Shichi-Go-San. Meaning 7-5-3 in Japanese. We celebrate these years and children dress up and get special candies. It's not exactly a birthday celebration though. It's a yearly celebration. I would pass that to my kids just because the dress seems good to me. You can google it and it'll tell. Can't paste URL here.
  2. I want to keep traditional way. Simply speaking, birthday is not celebrate me but appreciate god or ancestor.
  3. Yes. I try to organise nice games with existential talks during my birthdays. I like this tradition and I'm going to pass it if I have children.
  4. I like birthdays because all my friends gather and remember me. I hope my children will also have a special day a year when all their friends gather to celebrate together.
  5. Being with my friends and getting messages on SNS. They make me so happy. I want to pass it to the next generations because I want them to know how happy they are when surrounded by important people
  6. Eating a cake is one of my favourite coz I don't eat cakes usually. I will do the same to my kids coz "I" wanna eat it as well. lol

  9. Mostly I cherish gifts from my mom. It always something I really really want or need. I hope I will be such understanding and would know what my children wants. I also like, how my mother always congratulates me early in the morning on my birthdays, that and warm familly dinner is something I want to pass to my children.
  10. I enjoy the foods and presents the most. Because the foods are gorgeous and I can get what I want. I want to do as same with my children. Because these things make us happy and a party will be full of smiles!
