Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania

Based on what criteria you choose you celebration place? Does it differ from one year to another? Does the place have to have a special meaning to you?

  1. sometimes if i meet 1-2 friend, we are going to restourant, but if there are more people then at home, less formal place and you feel more free
  2. It just depends on where I am at the moment, if I am in my hometown, I would celebrate it at home, or at the riverside near my home. If I am in Vilnius, I would just meet my friends somewhere in the city, doesn't matter where.
  3. I choice the place where I like or I have never been to. Usually it is deferent from year to year.
  4. Usually, Japanese people celebrate birthday at home. Some people celebrate with friends.
  5. Usually I like celebrating at home, because it is the cheapest. Since it is my birthday, if we go out somewhere it would be my responsibility to pay for everyone and I cannot afford that. It doesn't have any special meaning though, if I could afford anything I'd definitely consider spending my birthday elswhere as well.
  6. I just choose what is comfortable, where we would have something to do, what would be interesting.
  7. No, as I said, I always celebrate my birthday at home, it's just because my home is the best place to stay and the best place to celebrate something.
  8. it doesn't matter. As long as I'm with people I feel good around with, I'll enjoy my birthday
  9. Mostly at home or friends party.
  10. I am used to celebrate only home so I do not choose other places.
