Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania

Based on what criteria you choose you celebration place? Does it differ from one year to another? Does the place have to have a special meaning to you?

  1. We just eat in a pricy(?) restaurant where we can't go on normal days.
  2. there's no criteria. i just go to the reastaurant which sells what i want to have on that day. And i think it differs from one year to another.
  3. Usually somewhere special, like the restaurant we go every month or my friend's bar or something like that. So the criteria would be how much personal bond I have with the place. And it does not differ from one year to another.
  4. Place is not that important. Normally at home with family. Or dringking with friends at pubs
  5. It has to be cosy and it must contain only people who take part in my birthday (no restaurants with other people around).
  6. I try to choose an intereting place, a restaurant I would like to introduce to my friends (good food or owner is a person I know)
  7. I don't care about the place. I don't decide it.
  8. When I was young it was in my home. after I became adult people celebrate in a restaurant. it's not special place but little bit fancier than the restaurants we usually go.
  9. Based on the environment which means how I can be relax. So I like my home to celebrate my birthday!
