Birthday celebration traditions in East Asian countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Lithuania

What aspects/traditions of birthday celebrations do you cherish/enjoy the most? Why? Are you planning to pass those traditions to you children in the future?why?

  1. In our family, we don't have strong birthday traditions, so it is hard to answer to this question. For my children, I think I would try to create traditions which could be past to them.
  2. I enjoy that people who care about you come together on that one day to celebrate it together. It shows that there are still people who care enough not to forget your day. I'm not going to restrict my children to any traditions, but I'm going to encourage them to remember their friends' birthdays and do at least something nice to them on that day.
  3. Singing "happy birthday"
  4. Mostly I enjoy family's/relatives meeting and cake eating. I hope my children enjoy the same thing to, not presents whitch will compere by the pice.
  5. No traditions.
  6. I have no traditions.
  7. When everybody giving a presents. The best part of birthday.
  8. I just spwnt wwith my close people. Thats what I want to teach my children. That it is not important how many people there will be or where you will celebrate, since after a lot of time, you remember who were with you.
  9. Like I said, I do not follow some kind of traditions. As for the future, I suppose I would like to educate my children about the right way to celebrate their birthdays and teach them about the right valiues, such as friendship and happiness and not presents and ameneties.
  10. The only tradition I enjoy on birthdays is spending time with the most precious people, the gifts and food are not important for me. I'm not planning to have any children in the future.
